Could someone please give me some clarification on this code? From what I understand it is to be used for i&d of multiple bursal spaces, even though the description says "multiple areas". One of my docs did an i&d of multiple areas but with no mention of "bursal spaces". He says he should be able to bill 28003 because the bursal sacs were removed along with all the other necrotic tissue. If he clarifies that in the note, would 28003 be appropriate?
