When coding Dementia with behavioral disturbance and depression - coding 294.21 would you also code the depression separately? Just want a generalized discussion from other coders.
 
No experience in mental health coding here - but on face value alone, since the 294.21 does not include 'depression' in its description, I would code the depression diagnosis separately.
 
This has been a general thought in discussion with other coders but wanted to see what others thought. Thanks for sharing 'nsteinhauser'.
