Procedure Performed:
Bilateral intranasal ablation of posterior nasal nerves

Indication:
Chronic vasomotor rhinitis

Procedure Note:
The patient was taken to the minor procedure room and placed on the procedure room table in a supine position. Following this local anesthesia was applied to the nasal cavity on both sides.
The Vivaer DR frequency probe was used to create mucosal lesions at the posterior aspect of the inferior turbinate and in the posterior middle meatus bilaterally. After doing a few lesions the patient became increasingly uncomfortable and it was decided to complete this procedure under general anesthesia.
