31233 vs 31231

My provider performs a portion of the maxillaryoscopy. The only part we do not perform is the acutual puncture. We enter the sinus cavity of the maxillary, via the inferior or the middle meatus.

My thoughts are that we are performing more then a rhinoscopy. When we enter the maxiallary sinus, this is often done bilaterally. As you know the 31231 is a unilateral or billateral code.

Do you know of the most appropriate coding. 31233-50-52 or 31231-22?
