Calling all GI coders! Do you use modifier 33 on a colonoscopy when the primary diagnosis is V12.72? ( commercial ins) If so, do you have luck with reimbursement at 100% under the patient's preventative benefits?

Any input is appreciated.

We use the 33 modifier only if a screening finds a problem (like polyp) and you use a non screening code for the dx. (like 211.3)
