Hello,

I had a physician place a Pericardial Drainage for a patient. Does the 33017 include the removal of it ?

If the drain was removed without imaging or a return to the OR/procedure room to remove it, the removal is included. If additional work occurred (e.g., fluoro to identify the path of the drain and release it, removal under anesthesia), you could consider an additional code. Routine removal would be included though.
