I've had a provider perform the atrial appendage exclusion with a clip during a CABG procedure. There's really no set documentation guidelines for this except that in order to be reimbursed atrial fibrillation needs to be the diagnosis.
Is it acceptable for the provider to just document that they placed the clip at the base of the LAA? Or do they need to have documentation that states they measured before placing the clip?
I know this is a fairly new code (2022) and I can't find too much info on this.
