I've been getting a lot of denials from Humana with the venipuncture (36415) and the blood glucose (82962) where they are bundling them & allowing the payment in the same procedure (82962). The venipuncture is for the outside labs that we are doing. Should I be using a certain modifier to let them know that the venipuncture is seperate from the blood glucose?
 
Are you billing for the lab? Or are you doing the lab in house? If the answer is no to both the you cannot bill the lab code. You bill veinipuncture only
 
Our company personally is not billing for the labs, but an outside company is. We send the labs off to another company and they bill for them.
