Wiki 43234 vs. 43235

When intraop EGD is done during Roux en Y gastric bypass to check anastomosis wouldn't 43235 be the appropriate code? Our billing company feels that 43234 is the appropriate code. Please advise. Thanks

I was always taught that you wouldn't charge for the scope in this case. It is a quality check and is included in the procedure.
