If the physician orders an RN to do the 51700, is the physician required to see the patient each time or can the nurse perform the bladder irrigation? Also, should the physician sign off on the nurse note to be compliant with documentation requirements? We have done some research and have come up with conflicting answers. Any help would be appreciated!
