Surgeon places a Foley catheter then proceeds with doing a laparoscopic hysterectomy. After the hysterectomy he does a cystoscopy to check the bladder for suture injury, etc. Is 52005 the appropriate CPT code?? Thanks!!
 
Agreed, the cystoscopy to check work should not be billed. The correct code would be 52000 though, to answer the other part of your question.
