Would it be most appropriate to bill with 52204 or 52234? I am leaning towards 52204 based on the biopsies being done by cold cup biopsy forceps and not completely done using fulguration.
The 22-French scope was inserted in the bladder. The urethra and prostatic urethra appeared normal. Within the bladder, he had slight erythema at the right lower wall, right mid bladder wall, posterior trigone region and a subtle mucosal abnormality just behind the right ureteral orifice. Using the cold cup biopsy forceps, we took biopsies from these 4 sites. The biopsy cystoscope was exchanged for the 24-French resectoscope. The biopsy sites were fulgurated. Hemostasis appeared excellent. No other lesions were identified. The scope was removed.
