I am not an OB/GYN coder but am being asked if 56620 has to be done in a facility (surg center/otpt hosp) verses being done in the office. This is for a simple/partial vulvectomy - anyone know?
 
As far as I know, it cannot be done as an office procedure. It is a major comprehensive procedure, involves general anesthesia , involves any less percent to 80% of vulvectomy needing hospitalization and may need adjacent tissue/flap advancement, and sometimes grafting.
