The physician does an amputation in the OR on a patient and may or may not know if further debridement's will be needed. This surgery will have a 90 day global period. 2 weeks after the surgery when the patient presents to the office, the physician determines that further debridement's will be needed for weeks to come. He does a debridement in the office--11042 and will have the patient return in a week for another debridement. Is the 11042 billable with a 58 modifier or does he have to take the patient to the OR each week for the debridement's, otherwise the debridement's in the office are considered in global and you would bill the 99024?
