How are others billing the scenario when a patient gets a push of 5FU and is also hooked up to a pump? I have always billed the push and 96416.59. The pump is a separate service. I have never gotten a denial for this before.

5FU and pump

I LOVED coding chemotherapy infusions - miss it a lot.

We always billed the short push in addition to the refilling (or initial filling) of the pump...exactly as you have stated - there should not be a denial.

Good luck!
