What documentation or description do you need to determine whether to code 61800 vs 61781 or 61782?

Stereotactic Navigation vs Stereotactic Radiosurgery

61800 is to be used in conjunction with codes 61796 and 61798 when a headframe is attached for stereotactic radiosurgery (eg delivery of radiation for treatment of brain tumor)

61781/61782 cranial intradural/extradural Stereotactic computer assisted navigation to determine precise locations during intracranial procedures. (eg stereotactic nav used for crani tumor removal code 61510)
Documentation should include preop CT or MRI performed and intraoperative registration/coordination.

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Charlena
