We are having an issue with 62290s being done with a 72295. However the 72295 is not being interpreted by the Radiologist as it is a repeat patient for Discograms of the L3-4, L4-5, and L5-S1. Can we bill the 72295? If not, can we bill the 62290 without it?
Thanks.

Radiological interpretation can be billed at the same time as the injection procedure provided that the performing provider is working within their scope to do so and provided that they have documented an interpretation and report (and the images are stored). Otherwise, if read by someone else, you would be able to bill only the technical component if you own the equipment. If the equipment belongs to the hospital, you report only the injection procedure.
