I am having a debate with a vendor company.
the codes in question are as I stated above: 64581 vs 64585.
the situation: patient has had a full implant (main codes 64581 & 64590), has come back to get one of the lead wires replaced.
Per vendor should use 64581
Per my research 64585 is the code that should be used for revision.
Can someone please, please, please help me? I have asked the vendor of written proof that using the code 64581 is appropriate as a replacement code, but they cannot provide any. If anyone can tell me where it is in black and white either with AMA/CMS or the like let me know.
