I am receiving coding edits for Shuntogram investigations of previously placed indwelling nonvascular shutt, rad. sup and interp. The edit is requiruing concurrent reporting of code 49427-injection procedure. (eg. contrast media).. From an excerpt form CPT asst. Sept. 2008 Q&A, p.10. "Occasionally, evalyation for discontinuty is preformed using plain radiography or CT imaging without cather contrast. In such cases, the service would be reported using appropriate radiography or CT codes." Question is do I have to code 75809 with 49427? I am thinking that I do not.
