New CPC-A. I am coding a injection to left knee with ultrasound guidance. I am confused as which code to use, and why.
 
20610 is for the injection WITHOUT ultrasound guidance. 20611 is for the injection WITH ultrasound guidance. There is a parenthetical note below them both that states "do not report...in conjunction with 27369, 76942." That's because those codes contain the part about WITH or WITHOUT ultrasound. And 76942 is for Ultrasound guidance only. It could be for doing various things: biopsy, aspiration, injection, etc...
