If a physician's office performs 84450,QW (Transferase; aspartate amino -AST) and 84460,QW (Transferase; alanine amino -ALT). A separate sample is then drawn, sent to the in-house physician lab (same practice) and 80053 (comprehensive metabolic panel) is performed. Is it appropriate to add the modifier 59 to the 84450,QW and 84460,QW?
