I am new to this transfusion studies.

Looking for the documentation requirements to code the CPT "86077(Blood bank physician services; difficult cross match and/or evaluation of irregular antibody(s), interpretation and written report)".

I am unsure about the "interpretation and report". How can we identify this in the documentation.

I don't have any handy but the report lists the different antibody results and makes some kind of reccomendation for future transfusions.

Alternatively, there are some cases where the pt has had a bone marrow transplant and now has a different blood type. That also includes a recommendation for future transfusions.

We also have a note that this information has been sent to the patient by mail.
