Does Medicare cover 86780 (syphilis) testing? If so, what code other than V74.5 would it be billed with?

If it is done as a screening, patient has no complaints, then the V74.5 is all you can code. If the test shows postive you can add the DX for the STD identified as a secondary

If it's a matter of payment, since MCare does usually pay for STD testing, you can get a waiver signed

If it wasn't a screening, then code the presenting symptom ie discharge, urinary pain etc
