Can anyone provide documentation or a link to verify that CPT 88363 cannot be billed with modifiers (TC) and/or (26)? Also, if our lab is only preparing the slides for another lab to actually run the test, is there a code we can bill out? We have the understanding that this cannot not be billed however there are others who you believe we can still bill CPT 88363. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
On the 2014 National Physician Fee Schedule Relative Value File January Release: it looks like you cannot bill with either modifier.
88362 TC Nerve teasing preparations
88362 26 Nerve teasing preparations
88363 Xm archive tissue molec anal
88365 Insitu hybridization (fish)

I also looked it up on the fee schedule search it did not come up with a price if I used either modifier. When I looked it as global or all it came up with a price.
