Good Morning everyone, in my practices we billed the RSV vaccine but I am getting alot of denial from MCR and MCR products as not a covered benefit , saying it should be billed to the pharmacy plan. My question is anyone else finding this. We are billing with DX code Z23 Thank you in advance

RSV and Shingrix vaccine are a pharmacy benefit. Fortunately, we have a pharmacy on site that bills for the vaccine once we order it. Vaccine is given by the clinical staff in the office.

Look into the Transact RX platform. Our practice uses this for most of the vaccines we give to our Medicare patients. It allows physician offices to administer the vaccine and submit the claim through their platform, and the provider is reimbursed for the vaccine and administration.
