I work at a Family Medicine Practice and we have LMFT that are employed by our practice. I'm wondering if a pt sees an MD (not psychiatry) and then sees a therapist for an intake or psychotherapy session on the same day, is it payable? Thanks

If the client is not Medicare it should be ok. MCare wont credential LMFT's, and therefore must be billed "incident to"....
I have never had a problem with any other payer with 2 different lvl visits on the same day.
Hope this helps;)

if she has her license to practice for psych and has her own NPI for billing, she'll be ok to bill and get paid. She and the other MD is not same specialty. No reason to deny any of their charges.
Hope this would help
