Please explain the difference between 90834/90837 and 90847. I was also wondering if 90847 was only to be used for crisis. Under the header of other psychotherapy there is another header of psychotherapy for crisis and 90847 is listed under that. Any references as to where I can find this info would be appreciated.:confused:
 
Check out this month's (January) Cutting Edge. There is a really good article about the changes to the psychotherapy codes for 2013 and they provide a great flow chart to follow to lead you to the correct code. (pg 19-20)
