Please assist..If you are billing 88305 X 10 units is it correct to add a modifier 91 to this.
We are recieving denials and UHC is stating that it requires a modifier when billing this many units.

Yes 91 overrides the limit on the units. We perform a test that is 320 units and UHC has a limit of 4 units. So we add modifier 91 and they have been paying

I know this may sound silly but is 91 only for bloodwork? We do colon biopsies and that is what we are using the 88305 for.
