We are a busy Pediatric Ophthalmology group and so to provide timely patient care it would be wonderful to have an Orthoptic Only clinic for our Certified Orthoptist. The question is the orthoptist does not have a NPI or license. My thought is to have the MD order the sensorimotor to be performed at the next exam, which would only be with the Orthoptist. However, sometimes the exam entails more than the 92060 sensorimotor. Other clinics we are in communication with are doing this as well as billing for E/M codes with the 92060 with only the Orthoptist see the patient.
