Order is for a vascular US of renal arteries.

RENAL DUPLEX ULTRASOUND

INDICATION: 15-year-old male with hypertension. Prior history of abdominal testicle, status post bilateral takedown.

COMPARISON: None.

FINDINGS: Right kidney measures 10.5 cm. Left kidney measures 10.3 cm.No evidence of nephrolithiasis, mass, or hydronephrosis. The proximal right and left renal arteries were not well seen due to overlying bowel gas and velocities could not be obtained in this location. The mid and distal right and left renal artery velocities are normal. No abnormality observed at the bladder. Bilateral ureteral jets evident.

IMPRESSION: Essentially normal renal duplex ultrasound; however, the proximal right and left renal arteries were not well seen due to overlying bowel gas.
