Hello!

Our practice is looking at billing 96112/96113 for additional testing/evaluating done by our PT's/OT's/SLP's. Immediately I obviously knew those codes are E&M codes, but I am not very familiar with E&M codes... are these primarily used by doctors at well visits, or can a PT, OT, or SLP use these codes in addition to their evaluation codes? (SLP- 92521/92522/92523, OT- 97165, 97166, 97167, etc, PT- 97161, 97162, 97163, etc.)

If so, can they be billed on the same day, or only on a different day? My thought is they are both testing/evaluation codes and couldnt both be used in the same day, and 96112/96113 should only be used if there are subsequent tests (if they can even be used by this type of provider that is)
