Can someone tell me if an LPC or an LCSW can bill 96127? I had a few kick out stating that it could only be billed under MD/DO supervision. I have not been able to find any documentation stating this. I would appreciate any help at all! Thank you!
 
Some of the psych testing codes are specific to provider type but this one is not. When not restricted this assessment could be performed by a physician or other health care professional. I'd go back to the payers who are denying and ask them for specific policies that may be impacting your billing.
