How do you code using the 96372 w/multiple units? Do you use a modifier and units, or post the 96372 line by line? Thanks

Hello,

If you have multiple injections, you can list 96372 line by line or just simply list 96372 once w/the number of units(injections). For example, if you have 2 injections, you could list 96372 w/2 units. No modifier is required for multiple units. Hope this helps!!

We have just had this come up recently. I agree with above comment for Medicare. If private payers reject 2nd injection, i would appeal with 59 modifer attached to the second injection.

Hi. Unfortunately, this will be up to the payers. You can bill 96372 X2units OR 96372, 96372-59 by line item. Either way is ok, it just depends on what payer it is and what they accept.
