Hello, I am a new coder and I often come across claims with a Nebulizer treatment (94640) and an injection of Kenalog (96372, J3301) all using the same diagnostic code to cover the procedures. Is billing an injection with a Nebulizer treatment considered unbundling when reported with the same diagnosis? Should I only be billing for the medication for the injection when billing for a nebulizer treatment during the same visit? Medicare is the payer. Thank you for your help.

Not bundled

These codes can be billed together; I do it all the time. But you may also want to code for the med used in the nebulizer.
