What do we know about this code? It is not in the CPT book that we have but it is online. It says we can use this during COVID. Is anyone using this? I work for a podiatrist.

There are a couple of other threads about this if you search.
My summary:
Most insurances do not pay separately for this. Some clearinghouses won't even be able to submit the code to the carrier.
I have heard (but not seen firsthand since my company only allowed us to start using this week), that some Aetna and Cigna plans will pay separately.
Currently, we are submitting to everyone and if it gets bundled or denied, just adjusting. Doesn't cost us anything to add the extra line on a claim, and MAYBE we'll see some occasional extra payment.
