Wiki 99140 with Renal disease

Can we use anesthesia add on code 99140 for a patient with renal disease?

I am hoping someone can assist with this.

The insurance carrier I work only allows 99140-Anesthesia complicated by emergency conditions (specify) if medical documentation is submitted that supports that there is an emergency condition the patient is experiencing. Just the fact that the patient has renal disease wouldn't necessarily qualify as an emergency condition that supports use of 99140.

What about the patient's renal disease makes the situation an emergency condition?
