I am beginning to feel as if I am chasing my tail with this one. I work for a community mental health center in Indiana and we are looking at billing a 99211 for RN services. I have a good understanding of what services we can bill 99211 for, but I am struggling with how we bill to our various payers. Indiana Medicaid is stating we cannot bill a 99211 rendered by a RN. I understand Medicare's incident-to guidelines. I am unable to obtain a straight answer from our commercial payers. I have been told by various commercial carriers that we cannot credential the RN, but no one can verify if they follow Medicare's incident-to guidelines and we can bill the supervising MD as the rendering. Has anyone had experience with this that could possibly lead me in a particular direction. Thanks in advance for your help!!
