Is someone who recently had a LHC cath procedure, never been seen in the office but, went to office and seen by an RN for concern about bruising/pain at access site considered established since seen in hospital for LHC cath? If so, can the RN bill 99211 for checking them and giving instruction for compresses for site pain. Or should the patient be seen by provider in office 1st, even though seen in hospital, to be considered established.

And does that type of visit even qualify for 99211?

Thanks for any information/explanation.
