Our NP goes to the patients home, the patient is not there, he was taken by ambulance to hospital. NP goes to the hospital and talks to the patient about their bipolar depression. The patient is in the ED being admitted and awaiting a bed for swollen legs, he is a paraplegic. Do I bill 99214 or 99284 with pos ED?
