someone please correct me if i am wrong. under the heading of 99221-99223, inpatient hospital visits, intitial and subsequent, my understanding is these codes can be used if patient is medicare as an initial consult or if a physician is seeing a patient for the first time during this admission into the hospital? am i correct?
