I'm confused. Our doctor consulted on a patient in the hospital. (new pt). Upon checking her insurance, I find that she resides in a nursing home. I have been told that to bill we must use the nursing home as POS because of some consolidated billing the nursing does. If this is true, which CPT code do I use for the consult?
Or has anyone heard of this type of billing? Not using the hospital's POS?
