Is anyone else having trouble getting Medicare Advantage plans to pay smoking cessation codes 99406 and 99407 in the inpatient setting? BCBS Medicare is not paying this and I cannot find anything on their site or in CMS regs that state that this is non covered inpatient. :)
 
Try using the mdcr g codes G0436 in place of 99406, and G0437 in place of 99407.
We are using this and they seem to be paying.
You may also want to try using the dx code of 305.1 or v15.82 with them.
