What are A codes and when are they used? A brief answer would be appreciated.

A codes

A codes with no more information would be the HCPCS code series that starts with letter A that include many things, but some things such as tape, dressings, ace bandages, etc. They would be used if DME supplies are provided to the patient or if a pessary was inserted, the supply would be billed in addition to the procedure, etc. It is hard to give specifics as there is a wide range of A codes.
