SelectHealth of South Carolina is denying access to recipients for implantable iud's.
The religious views of the group will not allow it. Patients and physicians are being told to submit claims to traditional medicaid for payment. That's all well and good because SC Medicaid "will" cover implantable iud's. But upon submission the claims are denied because of OHI. Which is accurate. I have been unable to find a work around for this. Long term I think the women of South Carolina will suffer from this situation. Physicians are going to stop offering iuds to patients with Select Health as a pay source. Sad situation. Somebody please give me some ideas to chase.
