Here's an extraction from the note for an established patient being seen in the specialist's office.
Patient requested injections of analgesics prior to Botox injections. Morphine 20 mg was diluted in 100 cc and infused intravenously over 15 minutes. Additionally he had an intravenous injection of Phenergan 25 mg prior to Botox injections.
This is another case that I need to validate and re-enforce what would be proper to code: And yes, I continue to ask about these scenarios as I'm still trying to come to grips with understanding how such few codes can create such a roadblock in trying to learn!
My thoughts are 96365 for the initial, and +96375 for the sequential. It was submitted with just the 96365 and reluctant to send it back if coding for the additional Phenergan would not be appropriate. I see the WHAT. HOW and WHY, but no WHERE or WHEN insofar as knowing the 5 key pieces of information for infusion adinistration
