Does anyone here use the AAPC RVU calculator? Today it is giving me lower numbers than usual. I checked the CPT 2026 coding companion book and it is not matching up. Would there really be a change to the RVU right now/not matching the book? The CPT I am looking at is 57425, which was 17.03 and the calculator say 16.6. Also, 58571, books shows 15 RVU and the calculator pulls up 14.63. TY!

The calculator is correct for 2026:

57425 has 16.60 work RVU for one unit.
58571 has 14.63 work RVU for one unit.

It looks like your book was based on the 4th quarter 2025 file (RVU25D). This is reasonable, because the 1st quarter 2026 file (RVU26A) probably wasn't available at the time your book went to print.

You can view and compare the RVU files on the the CMS website: https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/fee-schedules/physician/pfs-relative-value-files

Is this as of 1/1/2026? TY!
Yes, these newer RVUs were effective 1/01/26. But just as a general comment (as I review RVUs for a client each year), almost every physician work RVU has been decreased this year, but it was offset by an slight to substantial increase in the non-facility practice expense RVUs. It means you may or may not see a drastic change in reimbursement.
