Yes, I am the billing manager for a Radiology Group in VA. They do the abdominal and the pelvic CT for 2 reasons here. 1 could be the placement of the kidneys...to get a full view of top and bottom. 2 to double check the ureters for further issues, especially if the referral reason was for blood in the urine.

Willie I also agree unless a pre-cert does not include both then the order would probably be for the the abdomen since it would see most of the renal area.
