I have a cardiology specialty book from Contexo which shows diagnosis 427.31 can be used with CPT 93653-- however, I cannot find this anywhere else. Can 427.31 be used if the ablation is not done with pulmonary vein isolation (93656)?
 
I'm not sure I follow your question 100% but you can't bill 93656 if no PVI was performed.

93656 is for treatment of a-fib (427.31).

93653 is for SVT ablations (dual AV node pathway, accessory AV connections, and other atrial foci)

93654 is for ventricular tachycardia
