Dr has seen a pt in office and decision for surgery was made. If pt is admitted for surgery a week or so later and surgeon is the admitting Dr., can the admitting H&P be charged (99221-99223) as well as surgery on the same day? I would greatly appreciate anyone's input! Thank you!
 
No, the decision for surgery was made during a previous encounter. The H&P/Admission charges are bundled into the payment your provider will receive for his/her surgery service.
