What are you doing when a patient declines to take their copy of the ABN?
How are you protecting yourself from a future problem, if the patient says they never got a copy, and you know they did, or declined to take it??

Thanks

Are they signing it? If they sign the ABN & then decline their copy, put their copy in patient's chart with note that patient refused to take it. If patient signs..they are acknowledging they are aware of that information, right? So even if they complain later 1) they signed & were made aware, & 2) copy is in patient chart for anytime they request another copy.
